Wenger ‘a specialist in failure’ – Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has labelled Arsene Wenger “a specialist in failure” in response to comments made by the Arsenal manager.

Mourinho has insisted that his team are not title favourites despite being top of the Premier League.

Wenger today suggested that was due to a fear of failure of the part of the Chelsea boss.

A clearly irritated Mourinho said: “He is a specialist in failure. I am not.

Mourinho once called Wenger a “voyeur”

“If he is right and I am afraid to fail, it is because I don’t fail many times. Realistically, he is a specialist. Eight years without a piece of silverware – that’s very long.

“If I do that at Chelsea – eight years – then I leave London and I don’t come back.

“I don’t want eight years. I want four years to do my work and after that deserve or not deserve a new contract.”

Wenger suggested that the title is Chelsea’s to lose following an 11-match unbeaten run in which they have leapfrogged both Arsenal and Manchester City.

“The champion is Manchester United and the title is owned by them until mathematically they lose the title,” Mourinho countered.

It is not the first time Mourinho has criticised Wenger, having described him as a “voyeur” in 2005 after the Frenchman questioned Chelsea’s transfer policy.

Mourinho, then in his first spell at Stamford Bridge, said: “I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur.

“He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea.”
