Transfer gossip: Chelsea ‘growing confident’ of Rice deal, Sun on Sunday say

Some of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea are again being linked with a move for West Ham’s Declan Rice.

The Sun on Sunday claim Blues boss Frank Lampard wants to sign the England international, who was on Chelsea’s books prior to joining West Ham.

The newspaper declare that Chelsea are “growing confident they will wrap up a deal” to take Rice to Stamford Bridge and that the Hammers “know it will be almost impossible” to keep Rice.

Onana linked again

Chelsea are also still being linked with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international is among a host of keepers linked with Chelsea amid speculation over the future of keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Sunday Express have picked up on more reports claiming that Onana has been lined up for a move to west London.

It comes after Spanish newspaper Marca reported that Valencia are looking to sign Kepa on a two-year loan.

Havertz speculation continues

There continues to be speculation over the future of Bayer Leverkusen winger Kai Havertz.

Chelsea have been linked with the Germany star, as have Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

The Sun on Sunday declare that Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz has admitted that Havertz could be sold.

It comes after Bosz was quoted as saying: “I don’t feel that he is thinking too much about transferring. Neither are we.

“I certainly don’t have the impression that this will be his last game for the club.

“He is still under contract with us and I have to assume that he will be with us next season too.

“That will include the German Cup final next month and the next Europa League game against Rangers in August.

“Of course, that’s all dependent on nothing happening before then.”
