Portsmouth snap up Chelsea youngster on eve of QPR clash

Chelsea youngster Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan on the eve of their Championship opener against QPR.

The 17-year-old winger, who is from White City, made his senior debut for Chelsea in April, when he came as a substitute against Port Vale in the FA Cup.

He joins Benjamin Arthur at Fratton Park, with the Brentford defender having also joined Pompey on loan this week.

“Ryan is a very talented young player with bags of potential and we’re delighted to have him at Pompey this season,” Portsmouth boss John Mousinho told his club’s website.

“He is quick, direct and can play off both sides. He’s someone who is very highly rated – both by us and Chelsea.”
