More injury woe for Chelsea striker Delap
Chelsea striker Liam Delap faces another spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder.
Summer signing Delap, who missed most of the early part of the season with a hamstring injury, impressed in the opening 30 minutes of Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Bournemouth.
But he fell awkwardly when defending a corner and had to be replaced.
When asked about Delap’s injury, head coach Enzo Maresca said it was “probably” a dislocation.
But there was better news on fit-again attacker Cole Palmer, who played for almost an hour and showed glimpses of his quality.
It was Palmer’s first start since September.
“Palmer was good,” Maresca said. “After a long time, he played for some minutes and now he needs to build his physical condition.”
