Maresca remains positive after Chelsea draw

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca put a positive spin on Chelsea’s goalless draw away against Bournemouth.

The Blues were poor in a first half in which they failed to manage an attempt on target, and although they improved in the second period, they lacked conviction in the final third.

Maresca, however, refused to be too critical of his side, who have now gone three Premier League games without a win.

“We lacked a bit of quality in the last third, the last pass and the last shoot,” Maresca said.

“When you are not able to win it is important that you don’t lose, so we will take the point.

“We controlled the game and then in the last bit we missed the shoot, the pass and the cross. That can just happen.

“We tried to win the game. We had some chances. I said many times it’s important not to lose when you don’t win. We had a few chances. It’s important not to concede.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Liam Delap faces another spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder.
