Chelsea are hopeful that N’Golo Kante will make a swift return to action after missing the victory against Burnley.
Kante, who has endured an injury-plagued season, completed training on Friday but was nursing a hamstring problem.
The decision was therefore taken not to involve him in the game at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea won 3-0.
Blues boss Frank Lampard explained: “He got through training yesterday, so it was something that came up last night and then we made a decision this morning.
“It was more an awareness of the hamstring as opposed to a moment he had to pull up, so that makes you hope that it is a small thing. We’ll have to see how it goes.”
