Jackson having medical ahead of Aston Villa move

Nicolas Jackson is undergoing a medical at Aston Villa ahead of a move from Chelsea.

The Senegal international is expected to complete the switch for an initial £47.5m, with a further £17.5m in add-ons, following an agreement between the two clubs.

Personal terms are being finalised, with Villa boss Unai Emery having previously worked with the 25-year-old at Villarreal.

The move comes as Villa look to replace former Brentford forward Ollie Watkins, who is closing in on a departure to Al-Hilal.

Jackson made 37 appearances for Chelsea last season before spending time on loan at Bayern Munich.

He has not featured for the Blues since last summer’s Fifa Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Liam Delap has completed a move to Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea are in talks over a potential deal to sign Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor.
