Injured Terry set for ankle scan

John Terry is due to undergo a scan on his injured ankle on Tuesday.

The Chelsea skipper suffered the injury during Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Swansea and is a doubt for Friday’s home game against Liverpool.

Having made all three of their substitutions, Chelsea effectively ended the Swansea game with 10 men as Terry, 35, limped through the final minutes.

He left the Liberty Stadium on crutches and could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

Speaking after Sunday’s match, Blues boss Antonio Conte insisted he was “not worried” about the former England skipper, describing Terry as “a warrior”.

Should Terry be unavailable for the Liverpool game, David Luiz could make his first appearance for Chelsea since the Brazilian’s surprise return to the club from Paris St-Germain.
