Hazard hailed after his stunning display

Jose Mourinho hailed Eden Hazard after the Belgian’s hat-trick against Newcastle took Chelsea to the top of the Premier League.

But the Blues boss was adamant that Hazard’s display in the 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge was no different to some of his other outstanding performances this season.

Mourinho declared: “It wasn’t different to other performances apart from that he scored a hat-trick for the first time.

“It was a very similar performance to the ones against Hull, Manchester United, Manchester City, Southampton, Tottenham – he is playing the same way.

“In my opinion he is playing really well – a big evolution and with consistency. He has been fantastic.”

Meanwhile, Mourinho continued to insist that Manchester City should still be regarded as title favourites despite his team going top.
