Frustrated Giroud preparing to leave Chelsea

Olivier Giroud is set to move on this summer

Olivier Giroud has told French radio station RTL he is preparing for life after Chelsea.

The France striker is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, having been unable to establish himself as a first-team regular since joining Chelsea from Arsenal.

He has been in great goalscoring form in the Europa League but consistently overlooked by head coach Maurizio Sarri in the Premier League.

“Of course it’s frustrating. I know I will play only in the Europa League,” said Giroud, who has been linked with a return to France.

“The future may be hectic this summer,” he added. “I am not afraid to go down a level to get more playing time. It may be that I end my career in France.”
