Kante out for several weeks with ‘quite serious’ hamstring injury

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante faces several weeks on the sidelines with a “quite serious” hamstring injury.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed at a press conference on Friday that the news on Kante was “not good” and that the Frenchman faces another spell out of action.

Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic remains sidelined with a knee problem and striker Armando Broja will also miss Sunday’s game at Leeds after picking up a knock.

Christian Pulisic has been nursing an Achilles problem but trained on Friday.

Kante, who has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons, went off during the second half of Sunday’s draw with Tottenham.

“It is quite serious. We’re talking weeks, so it’s not good news. We are disappointed and sad,” Tuchel said.

“N’Golo was super important and was fit. He will now be out for several weeks.”
