Hiddink refuses to discuss Vardy and Hazard ‘speculation’

Chelsea interim boss Guus Hiddink

Guus Hiddink has refused to comment on reports linking Chelsea with a move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The England international, 28, has scored 15 goals this season and is one of a host of players Chelsea have been linked with in recent weeks.

But Blues boss Hiddink said: “Now is the time of nice speculation. We are not going into speculation and are not naming anyone.”

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup third-round tie against Scunthorpe United, Hiddink also refused to comment on Eden Hazard’s future.

The Chelsea playmaker has been linked with a number of clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid, amid reports that he could leave Stamford Bridge during this month’s transfer window.

Hazard, who suffered a groin injury at Crystal Palace on Sunday, is unavailable for the Scunthorpe game, as are strikers Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao.
