A much-changed Chelsea side were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw in a forgettable FA Cup third-round tie against Norwich. Here’s how we rated each Blues player at Carrow Road.
Didn’t have a save to make but was far from convincing. Caballero was shaky in the first half during some threatening moments by the hosts and was lucky to get away with a terrible attempt to punch clear in the second period.
Solid enough on his return to the side. He gave the ball away cheaply on a couple of occasions, but was strong in the air.

An unsurprisingly rusty performance by the Brazilian, who was rather predictably booked. His passing brings a new dimension to the side, but he was guilty of dwelling in possession at times. He improved as the game wore on and did well enough.
Reliable but unspectacular, Cahill was spot on with his positioning and was the best of Chelsea’s defensive trio.
One of the few Chelsea players to truly put in a full shift in the first period, defending without alarm and getting forward whenever feasible. He was close to scoring a stunning winner with a dipping injury-time shot.
Was outfought in the first half, but looked more like the powerful presence he can be after the interval. He still needs to do much more to win a regular place in the side.

Part of a disjointed midfield effort, Drinkwater did his defensive work but never really seized control of the match.
Did little to prove he deserves a more regular chance in the first team, with his off-the-ball running too predictable and his passing hit and miss.
Chelsea’s brightest attacker by a considerable distance, Willian was sharp and inventive but wasted a great chance to open the scoring with a tame finish straight at keeper Angus Gunn following a mazy second-half run.
The Spaniard brought plenty of energy and was not far away from scoring with a brilliant first-time hit in the second half, but he struggled to make an impact.

Batshuayi had one or two promising moments but his hold-up play was weak and lacking in conviction, albeit in a match where he did not really get a great deal of service.
Had little time to make an impression and regain some confidence after his poor display against Arsenal in midweek.
Also had very little time to make an impression after coming on but looked lively, although he did drag one effort off target from 20 yards.
