Loftus-Cheek set to finalise move to AC Milan

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected to complete his move from Chelsea to AC Milan in the next 24 hours.

Milan are keen to reunite the 27-year-old with his former Blues team-mate and fellow academy graduate Fikayo Tomori, who helped them win the Serie A title last season.

They were reluctant to pay the initial £20m asking price for Loftus-Cheek, whose contract expires next year, but an agreement now appears to be in place for him to move in a deal worth around £16m.

West London Sport has been told that the seven-time European champions believe Loftus-Cheek can have a similar impact to that of former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa at Napoli.

Anguissa struggled to make an impact in the Premier League but has thrived in the more technical but slower-paced Serie A, helping Napoli to win a first Scudetto title in 33 years this season.

Chelsea are keen of offload players from their bloated squad and enable new boss Mauricio Pochettino to make signings this summer.
