Boss more optimistic over Torres return
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is now confident Fernando Torres will be available straight after the international break.
The striker was referred for a scan after suffering a thigh injury in training on Monday and subsequently missed this week’s Champions League victory over Schalke.
Torres will also sit out the game against West Brom on Saturday and Mourinho was initially doubtful about whether he will be fit again following the two-week break.
But the Spaniard seems to be making good progress and his manager now appears optimistic that he will soon be back in action.
Mourinho said: “He is injured but recovering well, so we think normally – if things go in the right way – he should be in condition to be back.”
