Antonio Conte has said it is “too early” to comment on whether Cesc Fabregas might leave Chelsea on loan in January.

Blues boss Conte has previously insisted the club have no plans to make Fabregas available and suggested that the Spaniard will stay at Stamford Bridge.

However, asked about recent reports that Fabregas could move on loan, Conte said: “We have started November and it’s important to look at the present.

“I think for this type of situation it is too early to talk. I repeat: Cesc is Chelsea’s player and I am very happy to have him in my squad.

“Now it is important to find the right form to come back with us (after his injury) and then stay with us and the team.”

There has been speculation about Fabregas’ future this season as he has not been a first-choice player under Conte.

The former Arsenal man has recently been nursing an injury but has returned to training and is expected to be available for selection after the international break.

Conte also refused to be drawn on reports that John Mikel Obi, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is not in his plans and can leave.

“In every squad there are players who arrive at the end of their contract and then together the club will take a decision,” the Italian said.

“The most important thing is that Mikel is working very well. I am pleased with his work rate.”

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has insisted his club have “no interest at all” in Branislav Ivanovic despite reports they are considering a move to sign him from Chelsea.
