Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo says he is ready to deal with another tough run of fixtures.
Di Matteo guided the club to Champions League and FA Cup glory last season despite a fixture pile-up in the all-important final weeks of the campaign.
And with their opening league match against Wigan having been moved back 24 hours, the Blues will go straight into another demanding run of games.
Di Matteo said: “Taking over at the start is obviously different to taking over during the season, but we’re again going to have a lot of games.
“I look at our first week and one game has already been rescheduled, so we’re going to start with three games in six days.
“But the end of last season was very special and we’ve shown that we have the quality and the players to be able to compete.”
