Delap on course to return for Chelsea against Villa
Liam Delap is expected to return for Chelsea against Aston Villa along with Estevao Willian.
Both players will miss Saturday’s game away to Newcastle.
But head coach Enzo Maresca believes they will be available for Villa’s visit to Stamford Bridge on 27 December.
Maresca said: “Liam Delap and Estevao Willian, probably both available for the game against Aston Villa. That is good news.”
But Chelsea are still unsure when the injury-plagued Romeo Lavia will return from his latest layoff.

Striker Delap, who missed much of the early part of the season with a hamstring injury, suffered a shoulder injury during the recent draw against Bournemouth.
Estevao has been nursing a minor problem and was not in the squad for this week’s Carabao Cup win at Cardiff. He was subsequently ruled out of the Newcastle game.
Meanwhile, Maresca has dismissed reports linking him with Manchester City as “100% speculation” and insisted he fully expects to be at Chelsea next season.
