Luiz set to leave Chelsea for Arsenal

David Luiz is set to leave Chelsea and join Arsenal.

The Gunners are looking to complete the signing of Luiz, 32, ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

And the Brazilian has indicated that he would like to make the move to north London and be reunited with Arsenal boss Unai Emery, having previously played under him at Paris St-Germain.

Luiz, who is in his second spell at Chelsea, signed a new two-year contract in May.

Chelsea were reluctant to let him leave because the club are under a Fifa-imposed transfer embargo so would be unable to replace him.

But Blues boss Frank Lampard, who is keen to give Kurt Zouma a chance to establish himself in the first team, has decided to let Luiz go.

Luiz was sold to PSG in 2014 but made a shock return to Stamford Bridge two years later.
