Antonio Conte has indicated that Eden Hazard will start for Chelsea in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

Hazard, who had ankle surgery during the summer, has not started a league match so far this season.

The Belgian’s latest appearance as a substitute came in Saturday’s 4-0 win at Stoke and Blues boss Conte seems ready to include him from the start against Atletico.

“Last season he showed in every game his great talent. He is a top player,” said Conte.

“This competition is very important for him and the team as it brings you to another level. He has all the possibility to do this.

“He is totally fit and in contention for tomorrow’s game. It’s the right moment.”

Pedro has been carrying a minor knock but is expected to be available.

And Conte confirmed that David Luiz has been passed fit despite recently suffering a wrist injury.

“This type of injury won’t stop him tomorrow. He is in contention, no problem,” Conte said.
