Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi bailed after arrest

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been released on bail after being arrested in suspicion of rape.

The Chelsea winger was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after police and an ambulance were called to an address in London to a report of an unwell woman.

A woman reported that she was raped. She was taken to hospital.

England international Hudson-Odoi, 19, was arrested at the scene and has since been released from custody.

He has been bailed to return on a date in June and enquiries are continuing.

Chelsea have declined to comment.

Hudson-Odoi tested positive for coronavirus prior to matches being suspended and a lockdown being enforced because of the pandemic. He has since made a full recovery.

Some reports have suggested the woman involved visited Hudson-Odoi from another address.

Lockdown rules in England state that only one person from each household may meet and must remain outdoors and keep two metres apart.
