Lawrence heading to Wigan and Gallagher set for another loan move

Chelsea youngster Henry Lawrence is set to join Wigan Athletic on loan.

He is following in the footsteps of Reece James, who spent a season on loan with the Latics before breaking into the Blues first team.

The versatile Lawrence, 19, is primarily a defender but can also operate in midfield – in the centre or on either flank.

Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher is set for another season-long loan move.

A number of clubs are interested in the midfielder, who impressed while on loan at West Bromwich Albion last term.

There has been speculation that Gallagher, 21, could be given a chance in the Chelsea first team this season.

However, the club will look to loan him out again.

Crystal Palace wanted Gallagher prior to his move to Albion and are expected to make an approach.

Gallagher is not for sale – but Marc Guehi is set to leave Stamford Bridge and sign for Palace on a permanent deal.
