Chelsea hoping Beever-Jones is passed fit for Champions League clash

Aggie Beever-Jones could feature in the first leg of Chelsea’s Women’s Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal despite picking up an injury at the weekend.

Beever-Jones went off during the second half of the 1-1 draw with London City Lionesses.

But she will be assessed ahead of the game at the Emirates Stadium and could yet play against the Gunners, manager Sona Bompastor said on Monday afternoon.

“We are assessing her. We will assess her tomorrow,” Bompastor said.

“There is still a chance for her to be available for the game, so we’ll make the final decision tomorrow.”

Captain Millie Bright is among the Chelsea players unavailable, while neither Ellie Carpenter nor Sam Kerr are expected to feature following their recent involvement for Australia in the Asian Cup.

“Millie won’t be available tomorrow. She is still dealing with her ankle,” Bompastor confirmed.
