Transfer gossip: Chelsea said to be favourites to sign Havertz

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Kai Havertz continues to be linked with Chelsea.

The Express have declared that Chelsea are favourites to sign the Bayer Leverkusen winger.

It is claimed that director Marina Granovskaia, who negotiates Chelsea transfers, is trying to see off competition from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who have also been linked with Havertz.

The Express’ story is based on an Italian journalist posting on Twitter that he believes Chelsea are “leading the race” to sign the Germany international.

Other recent reports have declared that Bayern are favourites to sign Havertz and that Chelsea are willing to pay £75m – apparently £15m less than the asking price.

There has also been speculation that the apparent asking price might drop if Leverkusen miss out on a Champions League spot.

The Mail, meanwhile, have claimed that Chelsea are turning their attention to Havertz’s Leverkusen team-mate Leon Bailey.

Chelsea want Henderson, Sun say

Chelsea want to sign goalkeeper Dean Henderson from Manchester United, according to The Sun.

Henderson has impressed on loan at Sheffield United and has been touted as a possible long-term replacement for David De Gea at Old Trafford.

Henderson’s representatives have been discussing a new contract for him with United.

And it is claimed that Chelsea are looking to sign him when the transfer window reopens.

Henderson is among a host of keepers the Blues have been linked with amid speculation over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa was dropped by Frank Lampard earlier in the season, leading to reports he could be sold this summer.
