Chelsea boss hoping for Torres boost

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is hoping Fernando Torres’ Euro 2012 success will help the striker produce his best form for the Blues.

Torres looked back to his best at times last season and scored three goals for Spain during their triumphant European Championship campaign.

His Chelsea team-mate Juan Mata also appeared in the final against Italy, and both players are likely to play key roles when the Premier League season gets under way.

“Success breeds confidence – and confidence is everything in sport,” said Di Matteo.

“I was pleased for them, even though they beat Italy in the final. I hope they come back in that kind of form and mood.”
