Caicedo’s fitness to be assessed before Chelsea face Arsenal

Chelsea will assess Moises Caicedo before deciding whether he is fit to face Arsenal on Sunday, Xabi Alonso has said.

Caicedo was taken off soon after coming on as a substitute in the 4-3 win against his former club Brighton.

“We will check tomorrow,” boss Alonso said on Friday afternoon. “Tomorrow is the last decision for the squad on Sunday.”

Alonso also gave an update on Jordan Henderson, who signed for Chelsea after leaving in the summer.

The 36-year-old has not featured regularly for the club so far, but Alonso suggested a first appearance is close.

“[He is] getting closer and closer to playing time,” Alonso said of the former Liverpool captain.
