Brentford head coach Dean Smith praised John Swift and Sergi Canos after their goals secured victory over Wolves.

Chelsea loanee Swift scored twice, while on-loan Liverpool winger Canos netted the Bees’ other goal in a 3-0 win at Griffin Park.

Smith said: “We put three ball carriers in the team with Swift, Canos and Alan Judge and they got at the opposition today.

“They gave us energy and they’re good players. Let’s not forget that Canos and Swift are only young and still learning the game.

“They’re getting better and better in the Championship but they’ve still got a long way to go to reach their full potential.

“It was a good performance by everyone tonight and we couldn’t be happier. A clean sheet is important for us and we won’t rest on our laurels.

“We need to keep working hard to match every team in this league.”

The result lifted Brentford to 11th in the Championship table.

Meanwhile, Lewis Macleod faces a number of weeks on the sidelines after picking up another injury.
