Brentford 3 Wolves 0

John Swift scored twice as Brentford bounced back from three straight league defeats with an emphatic win at Griffin Park.

The on-loan Chelsea youngster forced home a 39th-minute opener via a Wolves defender before tapping the third into an empty net in the second half.

The impressive Sergi Canos scored the Bees’ second, drilling home from close range after the break from Alan Judge’s pass.

Judge hit the post in the first half and was involved in the opening goal. The Irishman burst into the box and Swift’s shot hit Wolves’ Ethan Ebanks-Landell before striking Swift again and bouncing into an empty net.

Marco Djuricin squandered a number of first-half chances for the Bees, including an unmarked header that he sent harmlessly over the bar, but the home side grew in strength in the second period.

Judge did excellently with his neat pass that found Canos in the box and the on-loan Liverpool man fired into the far corner on 56 minutes.

Canos turned provider 11 minutes later when his low cross found Swift waiting unmarked in the penalty area.

Jack O’Connell was denied Brentford’s fourth when keeper Carl Ikeme pushed wide a goal-bound header in injury time.
