Brentford’s offer for Lewis-Potter is ‘not enough’

A bid tabled by Brentford for Keane Lewis-Potter is “not enough” and Hull City hope to keep him, the Championship club’s vice-chairman has told BBC Humberside.

Tan Kesler confirmed a “firm offer” had been received for the 21-year-old, who has attracted interest from other Premier League sides.

Brentford tried unsuccessfully to sign him in January and are again trying to thrash out a deal.

But Kesler said: “There is a firm offer, but we’re not doing anything yet. It’s not enough.”

The Bees are looking to pay around £20m for Lewis-Potter, who is an England Under-21 international and has been hugely impressive for the Tigers.

“With Keano, the most important thing is that he is from here, and he has one more final step (promotion) to achieve in Hull,” Kesler added.

“If he believes in that, no problems. If he doesn’t believe in that, no problems and if the offer is right we will consider it.”
