Brentford complete signing of young keeper Cox

Brentford have completed the signing of teenage goalkeeper Matthew Cox from AFC Wimbledon.

The 18-year-old has moved for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year contract with the option of a further year. He will initially play for the Bees’ B team.

Cox, an England Under-17 international, was previously on Chelsea’s books.

Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane told the club website: “Matthew is a fantastic young goalkeeper who has already had some good experiences with Wimbledon and internationally with England.”

Brentford also look on course to sign teenage midfielder Myles Peart-Harris from Chelsea.
