Dervişoğlu completes Burnley loan switch

Brentford attacker Halil Dervişoğlu has completed a season-long loan move to Championship side Burnley.

West London Sport reported that the 22-year-old was one of a number of Bees players who could depart ahead of the deadline, and Brentford boss Thomas Frank last week confirmed that he could be on his way out of west London.

Dervişoğlu made his Premier League debut last month, coming on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Leicester City, but has yet to make another league appearance since then.

He spent last season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray and has also spent time on loan at FC Twente since joining Brentford.

Phil Giles, Brentford’s director of football, said: “Given the options we have in attacking areas, we thought the best way for Halil to play a lot of competitive football this season was to go out on loan.”
