Andrews backs ‘amazing’ Yarmoliuk after costly red card in Brentford defeat

Keith Andrews backed Yehor Yarmoliuk after the Brentford midfielder’s sending-off against Liverpool proved to be a turning point.
Keane Lewis-Potter put the hosts ahead but Yarmoliuk’s dismissal moments before half-time changed the course of the game.
Yarmoliuk was red-carded for violent conduct after nudging his head into Jeremy Jacquet’s.
Liverpool took advantage and won 2-1, with Victor Munoz equalising and Alexander Isak scoring the winner.
Brentford ended the game with nine men after Vitaly Janelt was dismissed in stoppage time for a second booking.
Andrews admitted that the sending-off of Yarmoliuk was a decisive moment.

The Bees boss said: “We were edging it, getting into a good rhythm and playing with more belief, speed, thought and actions.
“We got ourselves in front and I felt pretty confident. But obviously the sending-off changes the dynamics of the game.”
But Andrews gave his support to the 22-year-old, insisting he would learn from his mistake.
Andrews said: “If you look, Jacquet is walking into Yarmo. We need to look at ourselves first, which we always do. I think they were cute and clever, but Yarmo has to do better.
“Yarmo is an amazing young man and we need to remember that he is very young.
“He is someone that we love working with and trying to develop. He will learn from this.”
