Andrews pleased to see Brentford go ‘back to basics’
Keith Andrews felt Brentford got “back to basics” in their goalless draw at Bournemouth.
It was an uninspiring game on the south coast, where the Bees rode their luck at times and struggled to create clear-cut chances.
It was a far cry from the incredible 4-3 victory at Burnley at the weekend, when Andrews’ side lost a three-goal lead before stoppage-time drama.
“We got back to basics against a very dangerous team going forward,” Andrews declared.
Brentford were not at their best and were under pressure for much of the game.
But they remain seventh in the Premier League table – very much in the running for a European spot – and Andrews was happy with the point.
“Overall, I’m pleased with the result,” the head coach said.
“We could have been better on the ball and had a little more quality in our decision- making. But we showed a lot of desire and grit out of possession.”
Meanwhile, Brentford are assessing a hamstring injury suffered by Rico Henry during the first half.
