Frey gets his wish and leaves QPR in £500,000 deal
Michael Frey has returned to his native Switzerland, joining Grasshopper Zurich for £500,000.
The striker, 31, signed a new QPR contract in September but has not made an impact this season.
He told Rangers in November that he would like to move during the January transfer window if an opportunity came his way to play regular first-team football.
The club agreed and his departure has therefore been on the cards for several weeks.
He has been kept out of the side by summer signings Richard Kone and Rumarn Burrell this season, and more recently also slipped below Rayan Kolli in the pecking order.
Frey was signed by the R’s from Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp two years ago.
He scored a total of nine goals in 51 Championship appearances for the club.
His final appearance was as a late substitute against Portsmouth on Boxing Day.
