Redknapp promises QPR will sign striker
Harry Redknapp says there is no doubt QPR will sign a striker before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Rangers have been linked with a host of forwards and have lined up several possible signings, but have long planned to wait until this week before narrowing down their options.
And manager Redknapp insisted: “We’ll find somebody for sure. There’s someone out there and we will find one.”
Talks have now started with Ishak Belfodil over a loan move for the Inter Milan forward, which could be completed in the next 24 hours.
Rangers appear to have reached an agreement with Parma, who co-own the Algerian forward and initially insisted they wanted him sold for at least £7.5m.
Redknapp is also targeting a defender because Danny Simpson is out with a back injury, plus there are concerns over Nedum Onuoha, who has a knee problem.
The club also plan to add 18-year-old Livingston centre-back Coll Donaldson to their development squad.
“Everyone knows we’ve been relying on Charlie Austin up front, so we do want to bring in a striker,” Redknapp added.
“We’re looking to bring in a defender too if we can. We’re not sure how long Danny will be out for but it doesn’t look too good and he’s been told to rest.”
