Brentford stars backed to win call-ups

Brentford manager Mark Warburton believes the likes of Alan Judge and Stuart Dallas can put themselves in the frame for international call-ups if their good form continues.

Judge, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level, impressed while on loan for the Bees last season and the 25-year-old Dubliner completed a permanent move from Blackburn Rovers during the summer.

Dallas, 23, has made one appearance for Northern Ireland, and having initially struggled to establish himself after joining Brentford from Crusaders in 2012, he caught the eye under Warburton last season and was a stand-out performer in the opening couple of matches this term.

“There’s still loads more to come from Stuart Dallas,” said Warburton.

“He’s now got real belief that he’s good enough – because he’s come from training once a week in Northern Ireland to being in the Championship, which is a massive ask.

“Many players make that journey and don’t make the transition. But Stuart has been outstanding in pre-season and really believes he belongs at this level now.

“Some of Alan Judge’s displays have been outstanding. Why they’ve not been called up I don’t know.”
