Wenger disputes both Chelsea goals
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insisted his team were hard by for both Chelsea’s goals in their 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners felt Francis Coquelin was fouled in the build-up to Juan Mata’s opener and were also unhappy about the penalty which led to the Blues’ second.
Wenger said: “We gave too much room to Chelsea and on top of that it was a free-kick on the first goal and not a penalty on the second goal.
“I don’t understand. The referee gave many free-kicks today for much less than the Coquelin one.
“It’s frustrating because in big games these type of decision have a big importance.
“In the second half we dominated. Unfortunately we didn’t come back. We didn’t make enough of the chances we had and that’s why we lost the game.”
