‘We gave them life’, moans Mourinho after Chelsea’s cup exit
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho again bemoaned his team’s failure to take their chances following their Capital One Cup defeat at Sunderland.
They were on the verge of the semi-finals before Fabio Borini’s equaliser forced extra time and Ki sung-Yueng’s 118th-minute winner then sent Gus Poyet’s team through.
Defensive lapses and missed chances have been costly in away defeats against Everton, Newcastle and Stoke this season, and once again Chelsea were beaten despite seeming at one stage as though they would be comfortable winners.
Mourinho said: “The quality of football we produced is amazing. We never lost a match because we didn’t play or that the opponent was stronger, it’s just we don’t kill opponents and we give them life.
“Every opponent knows they can score a goal [against Chelsea]. We had fantastic chances to score and didn’t score.
“Football is about results and about scoring goals. There were many key moments, not just one.
“We always wanted to go through in this competition but it wasn’t a priority.”

mournho shud stop callin hmself d special one, he is nt cos he has failed. Chelsea isnt d chelsea we used to knw dat was full of treat to opponents nw any team evn small ones can beat chelsea @ d brigde. Dey arnt evn goal scorin spirit or fight bak spirit, allowed sunderland to knock dem out ‘SHAME ON YOU ALL’, wat ar dos 3 useless being wo called demselves strikers stl doing @ chelsea? Strikers ar d likes of suarez, aguero, sturige, evn our own lukaku dat u sent on loan, you(mourinho) under rated him but he is far better dan all ur strikers put together. U better sell dem all includin tores n sign in good goal scoring strikers if not chelsea wl miss out frm all competition n you(mourinho) wil b sacked again. Wake up mourinho n make chelsea a winning team.

We realy lack a good striker who has foot work and knows how to break down defense.hazard holds d ball too much wsh he could play a little bit lik willians bcause willians is class

Am dissappointed with Mourinho,as a Chelsea fan am afraid ths guy wont win anything ths season.
