Torres: I knew the goals would come

Fernando Torres said after netting a hat-trick against QPR that he knew he would eventually finding his scoring touch.

Derided for his lack of goals since joining Chelsea from Liverpool for £50m, the Spanish striker has now got four in two matches and looks back to his best.

“I am very happy. I knew if I worked hard the goals would come,” Torres told Sky.

“It’s the same for the team – we are playing more as a team now. Reaching the Champions League final was important, but we also want to finish in the top four.

“We showed we were focused today from the first minute after Daniel Sturridge’s goal.”
