Title-chasing Liverpool prove too strong for Fulham

Fulham 1-3 Liverpool

Second-half goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota gave Liverpool victory at Craven Cottage.

Timothy Castagne equalised for Fulham in first-half stoppage time to cancel out Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal, but the title-chasing visitors took control after the interval.

Alexander-Arnold marked his return from injury with a stunning free kick to open the scoring.

Fulham levelled when Castagne arrived late in the box to score after Liverpool failed to deal with Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s cross to the back post.

However, a poor cross-field pass from Alex Iwobi was intercepted by Harvey Elliot, who set up Gravenberch to curl a lovely effort into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Liverpool dominated for the majority of the second half and all but cemented the win through Jota’s goal with 18 minutes remaining. Cody Gakpo slid in Jota to power a low shot under the outstretched arm of keeper Bernd Leno.
