Things to Pack to a Summer Camp

Kids are often super excited to attend summer camps. Whether it is a musical, basketball, volleyball or a football camp for kids, there is absolutely no better place for your kids to spend the summer holiday. Through all the excitement, you certainly would get confused deciding what to pack and what not to pack. It is difficult trying to strike a balance between packing the right things and avoiding an overload.

Packing the right things is just as important as ensuring the safety of those items. Before we dive into essential items to include in your kid’s bag, let’s take a quick look at some tips to help guarantee the safety of your child’s belongings.

Packing Tips

When you are packing for a summer camp, we suggest you exclude adding new and expensive clothes or shoes. The idea is to not attract unnecessary attention to your child, and allow them the fun of comfortably mingling with their peers. Below are tips we consider useful.Avoid packing items in small bags, as this would increase the chances of them getting lost.

  • Clearly mark your child’s first and last name on every item you include in the bag.
  • Involve your child in the packing process, this way they are able to identify the items they carry.
  • Ensure that all luggage carry tags containing your child’s name, address, your home or office number and the camp’s location.
  • Use bags or luggage that can easily fit into a car or a bus.
  • Include a laundry bag your kid can use for dirty laundry.
  • Avoid packing clothes that unnecessarily expose their skin to the sun.
