Taarabt ‘furious’ at claims of Barton bust-up – report

Adel Taarabt is ‘furious’ at talk he will quit QPR if Joey Barton isn’t sacked, according to The Sun on Sunday.

It was reported that Taarabt had told the Rangers hierarchy he wouldn’t play in the same team as Barton again.

A source said to be currently holidaying with Taarabt in Marrakech is quoted as saying: “Adel is furious. He has no idea where the story has come from and he categorically denies saying any of it.

“He has never said that he would not play alongside Joey again. Adel has played alongside Joey many times this season. He respects him as his captain, a player and his team-mate.”

It is claimed Barton, banned for 12 matches following a violent outburst against Manchester City, is likely to keep his job because Rangers have been told by their lawyers it would cost them £11m to sack him.
