Sacked Paolo Di Canio needs to change his ways, says Harry Redknapp
Harry Redknapp has backed Paolo Di Canio following his sacking as Sunderland manager but says the fiery Italian will need to change his ways.
Di Canio, who played under QPR boss Redknapp at West Ham, was dismissed after falling out with a number of players at the Stadium of Light.
And Redknapp said: “I was sorry to see Paolo go. Very sorry. When he came in they won at Newcastle and everybody was raving [about him].
“He did a great job at Swindon. I spoke to some of the players who were there and they had nothing but good things to say about him.
“He’s a perfectionist. He wants people to work hard and maybe some players today don’t like being told.
“Some players can be a bit precious and maybe he’s got to learn about his approach and temper it down a bit, but I still think he’s got a lot to offer.
“He’s got to change his philosophy a bit but he’s also got a lot of good points.”
