Reports: Assou-Ekotto in trouble and QPR ahead of Man Utd in race to sign Scottish prospect

Benoit Assou-Ekotto was rapped by Tottenham after seemingly inviting controversial comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala to watch a game at Spurs, the Daily Mail reports.

Assou-Ekotto, currently on loan at QPR from the north London club, issued the apparent invitation on Twitter in November and the tweets in question have subsequently been removed.

The French government is trying to ban M’bala’s shows because of his use of the ‘quenelle’ gesture, which the country’s sports minister has described as a “disgusting, anti-Semitic” gesture.

The Daily Telegraph confirm Tottenham are seriously considering recalling Assou-Ekotto from his loan spell because they need a left-back.

Meanwhile, the Daily Record have reported that QPR have made a bid of around £150,000 for Livingston defender Coll Donaldson.

Manchester United are believed to have shown an interest in the 18-year-old but it is claimed that the R’s are now favourites to sign him.
