Redknapp insists Tottenham can win the Premier League title this season
Harry Redknapp insists his former club Tottenham can win the Premier League title this season.
Spurs look set to lose talisman Gareth Bale to Real Madrid but have made a number of eye-catching signings this summer.
And Redknapp is convinced they are at least as strong as Chelsea and the Manchester clubs.
“Tottenham have brought some great players in, are building a fantastic squad and I think are now a team that can challenge for the league this year,” said the QPR boss.
“I don’t care what anybody says, there’s no reason why they can’t be up there looking to win the league with that group they have.
“They’ve got an absolutely amazing squad together now. They’re going to lose Gareth Bale but they’ve brought top players in and will maybe have an even stronger team.”
Many pundits have suggested Spurs are potential title winners but that this season will prove too soon for Andre Villas-Boas’ side.
But Redknapp is adamant that they are good enough to finish top of the pile this term.
He said: “I don’t see why not. If you go through them man for man they’re every bit as good as everybody else at the top.
“The squad would be as strong in my opinion as Man City’s, Man United’s and Chelsea’s. I think Tottenham have got a great squad of players now. I like the look of their team.
“I said when I was there they were only a couple of players away and I feel now they’ve bought four or five top players.”

Redknapp is seething that he was copped on by Levy and kicked out on his arse because he disrespected his employers and thought he was in charge. He’s a fool and his opinion doesn’t mean anything.
