Rangers ‘to bid £5m for Wigan star Moses’

QPR will make a £5m bid for Wigan star Victor Moses, according to the Daily Mirror.

It is claimed that Rangers believe they need to move quickly because Wigan boss Roberto Martinez would look to take Moses to Liverpool if he gets the manager’s job at Anfield.

The Daily Telegraph report Rangers’ plan to make Aston Villa an offer for goalkeeper Shay Given and say Rangers are also interested in West Ham’s Robert Green.

The Daily Mail say German club Wolfsburg, previously linked with QPR’s Adel Taarabt, have revived their interest and hope to sign the Moroccan for £4.5m.

Meanwhile, Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote is one of a number of players on Chelsea’s wish list as they plan a summer spending spree, according to the Mirror.

Tiote has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge before, as has Tottenham’s Luka Modric, who is also said to still be on the Blues’ radar along with Lille’s Eden Hazard.

Tipped to axe Di Matteo - and then spend big.

Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao, Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Gonzalo Higuain of Real Madrid are the strikers apparently being targeted.

The Daily Star suggest that Roberto Di Matteo will not be given the manager’s job at Chelsea and will be axed by club owner Roman Abramovich this week.

It is claimed the Russian believes Chelsea won the Champions League primarily because of good fortune.

A source close to Abramovich is quoted as saying: “Roman thinks Di Matteo has been very, very lucky and that he made a lot of mistakes in the games he’s been in charge, with his tactics and selections.

“The statistics in the two games against Barcelona and the show just how lucky Di Matteo was. Roman has to decide this week and he will not care what the public thinks.

“Roman did not become a billionaire worrying about public opinion – he only cares about what is right for the club.”

Several papers report that Didier Drogba is leaving Chelsea. The Sun say the striker sobbed as he told his team-mates he had played his last match for the club.

The Mail report that Falcao is top of Chelsea’s list of possible replacements for Drogba.
