QPR ‘appear to have missed out’ in race to sign Hoilett

QPR appear to have missed out in their attempt to sign out-of-contract Blackburn star Junior Hoilett, the Daily Mail say.

The winger has flown to Germany for talks with Borussia Monchengladbach, leading to reports he will choose a move to the Bundesliga outfit.

John Terry could face a Luis Suarez-style ban despite being cleared of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, the Daily Mirror declare.

There is speculation that the FA may yet take action against the Chelsea skipper, who has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

Terry was found not guilty.

The Mirror suggest he could be charged under the same disciplinary rules that saw Liverpool forward Suarez fined £40,000 and banned for eight games for racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.

The Sun say both Terry and QPR defender Ferdinand are likely to be charged with bringing the game into disrepute as a result of their foul-mouthed confrontation at Loftus Road last October.

They can expect at least a two-match ban at the start of the new season, the paper suggests.

The Sun also report that Fabio Capello, who resigned as England boss in protest at the FA sacking Terry as captain, welcomed news that the player had been cleared.

Capello’s son, Pierfilippo, said: “We are very happy. My personal view, as a lawyer, is that the final answer to this matter came from where it was always supposed to come.”
