Pulisic ready to focus on Chelsea

Christian Pulisic has said goodbye to his Borussia Dortmund colleagues and the American winger is now ready to focus on his new adventure in the Premier League. The 20-year old signed a 5-year contract with Chelsea early 2019.

In his last game for Dortmund, the young talent played for the whole 90 minutes providing the assist for the second goal in the 2-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Dortmund was very close to winning the first league title since 2011/12, but in the end of the season it was Bayern Munich who got out on top. Dortmund gathered 76 points, Bayern topped the league with 78 points.

Pulisic was signed by Dortmund as a 16-year old and was assigned first to their U17 squad and in summer 2015, to the U19. After scoring 10 and assisting 8 in just 15 games with the Dortmund youth teams, Pulisic joined the first team over winter break. Under the @BlackYellow Twitter-account, Dortmund said goodbye to Pulisic in the following way: “You came to us as a boy and left as a man. Thank you, Christian”. The American international played 30 games for Dortmund this season, scoring 7 goals and giving 6 assists.

Christian Pulisic ended his time at Borussia Dortmund with a win and an assist, but it was not quite enough for him to leave Germany as a Bundesliga champion. In a couple of weeks, Christian Pulisic will join Chelsea after a well-deserved holiday. Will he be able to win the Premier League with Chelsea during his spell in London? What position will he be playing? Is he going to replace Eden Hazard and play as a left-winger or will he be used on his favorite position on the right side of the field?

Chelsea is known for starting the season in a good manner, the Blues currently hold the record for the longest run of opening league fixtures without a defeat. So let’s see if Pulisic can perform as well on the opening weekend in the Premier League as he did in his last game for Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Only 20 years old, the young American player surely has a bright future ahead.
