Promoters Sauerland snap up Groves

George Groves has signed with Germany-based promoters Kalle and Nisse Sauerland.

The deal has been announced less than two weeks before Groves, 26, faces Carl Froch at Wembley in a world title rematch, having been controversially stopped in the ninth round by the super-middleweight champion in November.

“This is definitely a step in the right direction for me as I look to build my name not only across Europe but all around the world,” said Groves.

“I feel that now I have the right team in place to help me achieve everything I need to in boxing.”

Groves is the second west London boxer to be signed by Sauerland, who also promote cruiserweight prospect Deion Jumah.
