No appeal from Barton as QPR consider next move

Joey Barton will not be appealing against the FA’s decision to impose a 12-match ban for his violent outburst in the recent match against Manchester City.

The QPR midfielder lashed out at City’s Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany after being sent off for elbowing Carlos Tevez.

Rangers say they are conducting their own investigation into the matter and added in a brief statement on Friday that they expect the process to last at least a fortnight.

Manager Mark Hughes has been out of the country and is expected to meet with club officials next week.
